Born of Light
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be immortal? To stalk the evil that preys on the innocent day and night? That's my existence and it is dark and dangerous. And I love it.
At least I thought so up until I get struck by a car by the woman I was trying to protect. She's witty, sexy, intelligent...everything I try to avoid. My attraction to Selene Matthews goes against everything I am.
I find myself feeling things for her I have never felt before. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to fight against the attraction. But, I'm not the only one who's eye she's caught. An old enemy of mine has finally caught up to me and threatens the woman I care about.
Can she love a man whose heart has been closed off for centuries, though? A man whose line of work means danger will be lurking around every corner?

The Hero: Connor O'More
For 400 years, Connor has fought the Daemons and made many enemies along the way. As a mortal, he was a warrior for his clan. As an Immortal, nothing has changed. Well, except for the enemy. He keeps to himself most of the time and has very few friends besides his fellow Immortal brothers. Brutally frank and dangerous with a sword, Connor never leaves his opponent alive.
The Heroine: Selene Matthews
New Age business owner by trade, Selene is a natural born witch with the elemental power of the Earth. All she has ever wanted was a normal life. However, if her fellow witch sisters are harmed or you just plain ole piss her off, you better get ready for your world to start shaking in fear.
Born of Light - Excerpt
Connor looked over to the entrance of the bar. Standing there in the doorway, six foot with dark hair and violet gold eyes, entered a Demon. Connor continued to sit, watching the Demon carefully, patiently. Waiting for the right time to make his move.
As the Demon walked over to the bar, he looked around until his gaze landed on four women. Still out on the dance floor, the witches didn't even know that they were now a Demon's prey. After staring at them for a minute, the Demon started walking towards them.
Connor decided it was time to make his move. Standing up, he drew the Demon's attention his way. As soon as his eyes settled on Connor, the Demon took off towards the back exit.
Yes, run. That just makes my job that much more fun, Connor thought. He could use the exercise. Not to mention a chance to clear his mind of one of the beautiful women and the thoughts she unknowingly provoked.
Chasing after the Demon, Connor thew open the back door, entering the back alley. Connor tackled the Demon to the ground. The Demon whipped his head back and caught Connor in the nose, pushing him off. Landing on his back, Connor flipped up on his feet, pulling a short sword out of his black leather duster.
"Come on. Let's play," he said, sending a wicked smile towards his enemy.
Connor charged, whipping his sword to the right and left, wounding the Demon on either side. When he pulled back for the killing blow, the Demon launched himself towards Connor, nearly sinking his poison tipped claws into Connors chest. With just enough room, Connor took his sword, sinking it into his opponents ribs.
Removing his sword, Connor raised it for the killing blow. The Demon jumped back, running towards the street. Connor pulled out two silver Japanese throwing stars. Launching them at the Demon, he caught him in the back, making him fall to the ground. Grabbing his sword, Connor slowly walked towards the Demon. The Demon stood back up and took off.
Great. Just what I was looking for. A challenge.
"Alright, I think I'm going to call it a night."
Selene couldn't remember the last time all four of them went out and had this much fun. With her trying to get everything ready to open her store and Silver getting ready to do the same, things had just been so hectic, they never really had time to enjoy a night out. But, with everything going more smoothly now, hopefully they would be able to have more evenings like this.
Not like they never saw each other every day, anyways. They lived in the same house! But, seeing each other at home, and going out on the town were two completely separate things.
"Yeah, I think we're all ready to call it a night. I can't remember the last time I danced so much. I'm definitely going to feel it tomorrow," said Allison.
"I'll see you all at home. I'm going to stop by the store and double check the doors. I need to make sure I locked everything up."
"Alright. We'll see you at home." Grabbing her arm to stop her before she left, Silver said, "Be careful. Too many crazies are out tonight."
Nodding her head and hugging everyone good bye, she walked towards the exit, leaving the bar.
"You leaving? So soon?" asked Johnny.
Smiling, Selene replied, "Johnny, if I don't leave now, I think I'm going to have an overdose on too much fun."
"Nonsense! You can never have too much fun," he said, wagging his eyebrows at her.
Selene couldn't help herself. She had to laugh. "Johnny, are you ever going to give up?"
"Never."
Shaking her head, she waved at him. "Good night. Don't enjoy yourself too much while you're here."
Walking off, Selene got in her car and pulled out of the parking lot. Turning towards her store, she started flipping through her music until it landed on Volbeat "Heaven, Nor Hell".
Looking up, Selene slammed on her breaks, turning the wheel sharply, barely missing a man running across the road. Rolling down her window, she yelled, "Are you fucking crazy?!" Didn't people know better than to run out in the middle of the road? Apparently not.
Sighing and sending a thank you to The Lord and Lady, she steered her car back towards her shop again. Hitting another man in the process.

Born of Flames
When I was just a child, I was cursed to be sucked into a nightmarish place of eternal anguish and torture every time I fell asleep by someone who was supposed to love and cherish me. Now, for the first time in my Immortal existence, I can’t wake up. I’m stuck in this hellhole and have no clue as to how to get out.
Until I learn of a connection I have with a fiery redheaded witch I have sworn to protect. She is beautiful and everything I crave, while I am nothing but a scarred and hideous beast.
Trying to help me, Amber Johnson risks her life to help me. But there are other monsters who would sooner see her dead than let her help me survive, and I would rather sacrifice myself than see her harmed at the hands of those who have tortured me for more than two-thousand years.
The only question is, will we be able to escape our enemies and succumb to our desires for each other or will we be forever destined to battle the destructive creatures who would love nothing more than to see us fail?
